Groom hairstyles and beard styles — what suits your face

The right cut and beard for your wedding photos, chosen by face shape.

The best wedding look is rarely the trendiest one — it is the one that suits your face and your sherwani.

A classic cut and a shaped beard — simple, sharp and right for a sherwani.

Start with your face shape

Most faces fall into one of three shapes — each has a cut and beard that balance it.

  • Round face: add height on top, keep the sides short, and keep the beard longer at the chin.
  • Long or oval face: avoid too much height — a side part and a fuller beard on the cheeks suit you.
  • Square face: almost any classic cut works — keep the beard short and well lined.

Haircuts that work with a sherwani

A sherwani is formal — the hair should be neat. These cuts work best:

  • Classic side part — timeless in photos.
  • Textured quiff — modern but still smart.
  • Low or mid fade with length on top — sharp under a turban.
  • Slick back — elegant for the Walima.

Wearing a turban? Tell your barber — the sides and back are what show.

Beard styles for the groom

  • Full shaped beard — the secret is clean cheek and neck lines.
  • Short boxed beard — good for a patchy beard.
  • Designer stubble — one length, sharp neckline.
  • Clean shave — do a trial shave first.

One look for each event

The cut stays the same — only the styling changes for each event.

  • Mehndi: relaxed and textured.
  • Barat: your sharpest look.
  • Walima: softer and polished.

Mistakes we see every season

  • Trying a brand-new style in the wedding week — try it three to four weeks before.
  • Cutting too short just before the event — it looks best after a few days.
  • Copying a style from a very different face — bring the photo, but ask honestly.
  • Forgetting the neck and ears — photos are taken from every side.
